Oh, lovely lavender! How I love thee!

(I’ve actually already written a post all about .here..

But thought it deserved another shout-out because of its many wonderful qualities )

I found a fabulous article on it and many other essential oils and had to share…

Here’s a snippet about it :—->

There two main varieties of lavender essential oil:

  • Lavender essential oil, the classic lavender, is distilled from the flowers of L. angustifolia. It has a sweet floral aroma and contains a high percentage of esters, mostly linalyl acetate. It does not contain camphor which distinguishes it from other lavender varieties. The oil is often used for its anti-inflammatory, calming, headache relieving, sedative and skin healing properties. One of the rarely known effects and qualities of L. angustifoliaoil is its ability to relieve menstrual pain [29,30].
  • Spike lavender essential oil is obtained from flowers of L. latifoliaMedik. This species of lavender contains high percentage of 1,8-cineol and camphor and therefore has a strong camphoraceous odour. Due to these components, spike lavender oil is recommended for skin damages (cuts, burns, stings), as a pain reliever, for headache treatment and for its antimicrobial properties. It has anti-bacterial, antiviral, antimycotic, anti-inflammatory and nourishing properties and is one of most common used and best investigated oil in aromatherapy. It is used for relaxing and stress relief, for nose and throat infections, for skin care, in wound treatments and for stomach problems. It has a pleasant aroma. Lavender oil is also commonly used in pharmaceutical products and as a fragrance ingredient in soaps, cosmetics and perfumes [31].

The value of awareness – and the cost of ignorance & inattention.

Poison Ivy has a “Passive” defense that isn’t an open attack. Meaning Sister Ivy doesn’t go out of her way to cause trouble. And, if you step on her, bruise her, or encounter her after shes been mowed, she often lets folks know it!

Science: Urushiol is the oil based sap that is found in Poison Ivy.

It is a persistent pervasive sticky oil that clings to EVERYTHING it encounters. (Including bottoms of shoes. Shoe laces, clothing, pet fur, bases of drums, ect. Be Mindfuland think about all the things that may have touched the ground!!)

As a chemical molecule it ends in an =OH (which is basically an alcohol… and since like dissolves like, (in this case, is changes the structure of the molecule) you can “neutralize” the Urushiol with something as simple as Rubbing Alcohol (also called Isopropyl alcohol)

Sometimes for a looooong time – WASH ANYTHING THAT MAY HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND DOWN AT THE FIRE (Use 70% or higher Isopropyl alcohol / rubbing alcohol on shoes, bags, belts, and other non washing machine things. For cloths and ground blankets, Use HOT water and soap with surfactant (I use Simple Green) in the laundry.)

Urishiol as a chemical molecule ends in an OH. (In layman’s terms that means if you put alcohol on it, it changed its chemical nature. Meaning it will no longer spread.
Though next you need to get it off still!!!!
The quicker you do, the less gets absorbed by your skin.

Heat, sweating and itching may cause the reaction to keep presenting through the skin until the bodily stops reacting. (Which can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks, depending on how sensitive you are).

Most important is to wash ANYTHING that may have come in contact with alcohol and abrasive OR Hot Soapy water. This includes,walking sticks, bottoms of shoes, bags that may have been set down, ect.

Cultivating Awareness: Learn and be aware of how it looks, where it grows in proximity of your places of existing and traveling during the event. How I work with it, is when I arrive in a place that has poison Ivy, I immediately begin to consider the bottoms of shoes, hems of pants/dressed/skirts and any bags I may put down to be “Hot” and treat them accordingly → Never put them on your bed where you sleep, leave them outside your tent or home space, don’t set bags on laps, be mindful of hugging or touching others, ask if they have washed recently, wash after every contact, be mindful of things like touching your face after having your hands on the ground or petting a dog, Always. Leave. Shoes. Outside. WEAR SHOES. If you NEED contact with the ground to do your work, wash immediately afterwards. (some people react within a half hour, others react 6-12 hours later.) YES, its alot of thinking…. Remember, Sister Ivy is teaching us about MAINTAINING Boundaries – which requires mindfulness. Embrace this lesson, DO THE WORK and the struggle will ease. If you don’t, it may persist for some, for months….. Recontact is a big thing. Urushiol does not lose its ability to cause trouble, even after time. It MUST be neutralized.

Poison Ivy Self-Care Natural Remedy

#1: Wash WELL!! Use: Tecnu (specific poison ivy soap), OR Simple Green. OR Rubbing alcohol & salt OR sand AND Dish Soap.
-ROUGH ABRASION is necessary to remove this sap.
-Bag contaminated clothing separately and wash with hot water and plenty of detergent before using again.
-Place any cleaning cloths used to wash yourself, in a separate bag and DO NOT re-use until they have been washed.

#2: Treatment Suggestions: If you have a rash that is developing, with or without blisters,
WASH FIRST, THEN use any of the following in any combination that brings relief:

  • Calamine lotion
  • Itch Wash
  • Jewelweed plant
  • Baking soda poultice
  • Lavender / Peppermint / Tea Tree Essential oil
  • Rhus Tox 30c Homeopathic remedy (First 3 doses every 20 minutes, then 3 times a day until it begins to clear.) if Rhys doesn’t work, move to Apis.

#3: Prevent the Spread!!! These are all ways to spread Urushiol:
-BE CAREFUL HUGGING PEOPLE!! This is a GOOD way to spread this not so fun experience to loved ones.
-Beware that animals/pets can carry Urushiol on their fur after having walked through it. (this can pass to people who pet them) Pets need a good washing post festival.
-Caution with walking through areas containing poison ivy and then walking into your tent with shoes on. (leave your shoes outside your sleeping space and wash your feet before bed if you love being barefooted.
-Scrub under your nails to prevent spreading the oil after itching the skin that has a rash.
-Wear protective clothing. Tops of bare feet are the most susceptible! Wear tall socks in lieu of shoes if you must.
-if you must go barefoot, wash every evening!!! (see above method of washing FOR poison ivy)

The best natural treatments for skin blemishes and acne aren’t necessarily the most expensive. Everyone wants a clean, clear face; free of pimples, spots, and uneven skin tone. Here are some products and recipes that have worked for me in the past, are all natural, and are dependable:

Tea tree oil

Tea Tree essential oil (also called Melaleuca oil) is an absolute MUST for acne or problem skin. Tea Tree oil has powerful antibacterial (and even antifungal and antiviral!) properties and is effective against MRSA, which is a strain of bacteria that has developed resistance to some man-made antibiotics. So it’s a natural product that can fight the spread of nasty germs. Its properties also make it crucial in fighting acne.

Best Burt’s Bees Products Treatment for Skin Blemishes:

  • Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick!!! – worked wonders for me! (and I love the ingredients: SD Alcohol 40-B (from Yellow Corn), Calendula Flower Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Yarrow Oil, Parsley Seed Extract, Willowbark Extract, Lemon Oil, Fennel Oil, Water, Tea Tree Oil, Juniper Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil.)

Essential Oils Best for Treatment for Skin Blemishes & Acne:

  • Tea Tree essential oil – may be used directly on the skin without carrier oil, but you may like to add coconut oil for its antibacterial properties, or jojoba oil (healing and nourishing) for added benefits. An absolute must-have in your acne arsenal! Some people have cleared their skin with just this ingredient alone.
  • Bergamot essential oil (BF or begaptene free) – best to use a carrier such as grapeseed or coconut oil as it is very light and the scent is lovely for both men and women.
  • Lavender essential oil – lavendula angustifolia – maybe used undiluted directly on skin, as Lavender is a universal essential oil with a multitude of properties, always great for any skin type.
  • Rosewood essential oil – nice mixed with tea tree for those less sensitive, it also adds a nice moisturizing quality, make sure to mix with coconut, jojoba, grapeseed or similar carrier.
  • Clove essential oil (only for intense overnight spot treatments)- always use diluted in a carrier such as grapeseed, jojoba, coconut, etc.

Other essential oils that are useful for oily/acne/combination skin:

Geranium, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Juniper, and lemon.

Essential oils are some of my favorite ingredients to use as not only are they all natural, but have many amazing properties to heal all types of skin maladies. The best things you could use in treatment for skin blemishes are natural products. Just make sure to do a patch test to be sure you don’t have allergies.

Also note that essential oils are very potent and less is always more when it comes to using them on the skin. Make sure to dilute them with a carrier oil. One of the lightest carriers is grapeseed oil, but coconut is also a great choice, because of its antibacterial properties, and the jojoba is perfect for when you need extra healing.

My old stand-by remedy for getting rid of blemishes overnight when I was out of all my other treatments, was dabbing a bit of toothpaste mixed with tea tree oil on the pimple, and going to sleep. Most often, it was ready to go by morning. I’d steam my face to open the pores and be rid of it. And follow up with my easy to make Blemish remover toner.

The popping yourself idea probably isn’t thebest advice for everyone, but for me it always worked. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that to anyone, but just had to throw it in there. But the toner is a MUST!!

Recipe for Blemish remover toner:

Use this after cleansing and patting dry lightly.

In a 4 oz bottle add:

  • Witch hazel 3 oz
  • Calendula oil mixed with fractionated coconut oil or jojoba oil 12 to 20 drops
  • Tea tree oil 5 drops
  • Bergamot (bf) 2 drops
  • Lemon 2 drops
  • Eucalyptus 3 drops
  • Juniper 2 drops
  • *Optional- Frankincense or Sandalwood (either is fine) 2 drops

Shake well before each use, apply to cotton pad and swab skin lightly.

for those suffering with perimenopause, or menopause,  you know exactly what I’m talkin’ about.

Hopefully, those of you suffering with symptoms of aging, hormonal havoc, and symptoms of menopause can find some comfort here…

Some essential oils perfect for when you get those fiesty Hot Flashes-

  • Clary Sage
  • Geranium
  • Peppermint
  • Grapefruit,
  • Lavender,
  • Rose,
  • Frankincense
  • Lemon
  • Chamomile
  • Ylang Ylang
  • neroli
  • cypress
  • Myrtle
  • Blue Yarrow
  • Fennel
  • geranium rose

Pick a few faves and add about 10 total drops to around 4 oz of rose water or peppermint hydrosol. Keep it in the fridge, and pull it out before bedtime, keep it next to the bed. A few sprays will help in the middle of the night.

I use Clary Sage, Rose, Peppermint, Geranium, Frankincense, Lemon, and a couple others for good measure in my blend.  I also created a special blend called Dragonfly; women going through changes .

( also you may want to consider taking some Evening Primrose Oil , I’ve read lots of articles and reviews that say it does wonders, and it seems to get rave reviews.)

If you’re not into creating your own, Here’s a blend from amazon already put together (granted, I’ve not tried this one, but it seems pretty good): Menopause Relief contains: Pure Essential Oil Blend. Contains: Lavender, Cypress, Lemon, Geranium, German Chamomile, Frankincense.

or one by Amrita; Menopause Roll On Relief, Natural Hot Flashes Relief, Organic Lotion Base with Essential Oils of Sweet Fennel, Clary Sage, Rose Geranium, Jasmine and Vitex.

If you want to make your own you can buy essential oils and add them to a lovely floral water or hydrosol for a nice spray…

Balance blend for men and women:

This blend of essential oils has been noted to balance hormones and regulate prostate function in men as well as helping women through their changes.

It has also been used to successfully reduce or eliminate hot flashes for women:

  • 10 drops Clary Sage
  • 5 drops Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare),
  • 10 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia),
  • 5 drops Myrtle (Myrtus communis),
  • 5 drops Frankincense (boswellia carterii or Sacred Frankincense
  • if you dont have frankincense try Blue Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) or better yet Vitex.
  • 5 drops Peppermint (Mentha piperita),
  • 10 Rose Geranium

FYI:::: ———-> Sacred Frankincense is also being studied for helping to cure cancer!!

Mix these essential oils into 2 oz. of a carrier oil like jojoba or fractionated coconut oil, store in a dark colored glass bottle with a tight lid with name of blend and date.

Then add 0.5oz (15ml) of Balance blend into 4oz (120ml) either rose, peppermint, lavender, myrtle, or blue yarrow hydrosol. Actually, to get this to fit into a 4 oz spray bottle, you’ll want to either get a little larger bottle or use a bit less of the oil blend, or– use up a little bit of the hydrosol on something else (like a facial toner mixed 1/2 + 1/2 with witch hazel) so it all fits into the bottle.

Shake bottle well, close your eyes and give yourself a nice spray on your face, neck, underarms, legs…wherever needed. Safe for entire body…but keep out of eyes, mouth and off genitals..lol.

 

Several essential oils that contain hormone-like substances related to estrogen are helpful during menopause.

These wonderful oils may be used in many ways, like: in a diffuser, in a massage oil, in the bath, or in salts, or just inhaled . These include:

  • clary sage,
  • geranium
  • clary sage YE womens health
  • Neroli
  • lavender
  • anise,
  • fennel,
  • cypress,
  • angelica,
  • coriander,
  • sage,
  • peppermint
  • lemon
  • rose
  • chamomile
  • jasmine
  • myrtle
  • Vitex
  • Pine
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Jasmine

Such essential oils, will help relieve hot flashes, and many other issues related to menopause. Since essential oils go right through the skin, applying them to fatty areas of the body where hormones are manufactured and stored will create the most direct effect.

Essential oils: JUST THE ESSENTIALS

I found some information today I thought you might like to know…

Did you know Americans spent over $374 BILLION dollars in healthcare in 2014?
Per person, we spend 40% more than any other nation. And if you take into account the entire medical industry the number is simply staggering: $3.8 Trillion dollars. (Yes, that’s with a “T”!)

That’s more than the entire Gross Domestic Product for 87% of the countries of the world! And yet, despite spending all that money, America is still ranked 17th in terms of quality of health.

So why am I bringing this up? After all, you’re here to learn about essential oils, right?
I bring these figures up because if you’re like the majority of Americans, you know (deep down inside) that there is a better way to health. A more natural way to health.

The Most Powerful Forms Of Healing Are Found Right Here On God’s Green Earth.

Mother Nature knows more than humans will ever know. And she provides everything we could ever need to maintain vibrant health well into our mature years.

And I don’t care what the “officials” say – something made from chemicals in a lab will never work better than what Mother Nature can come up with. The irony is… most of the treatments are created in a lab today is just trying to duplicate what Nature already does.

So why do companies spend decades… and billions of dollars… doing this? Simple: You can’t patent a plant or natural process. And if you can’t patent it… you can’t make money!

(Heaven forbid they spend all that money to actually make peoples lives easier and more pain free.)

Essential oils are today’s natural miracle remedies… yet the practice of using essential oils has been around for thousands of years.

In fact, using essential oils dates back to the ancient Egyptians. And in many ancient texts the oils were often referred to as “nectar of the Gods.”

There are also over 500 references to essential oils in the Bible. Obviously these miracles of Mother Nature were highly revered by Ancient Man.

When I first learned about Essential Oils my first thought was “how could something so simple actually improve my health?”

But as I did more research and learned how they really work, I was amazed.

Because lately I’ve seen a lot of articles popping up on Facebook, Twitter and other social sites talking about them and a lot of the information is, how do I say this politely… scary!

Not to mention it’s not very accurate.

So the purpose of this site is to share with you information on Essential Oils that can help you make wise choices.

Especially as you start to incorporate them into your life to improve your health and well being.

If you are already familiar with them, then you also know, we are forever learning about their wonders.

I’ve been working with essential oils for over 20 years and still learn something new everyday.

Be aware of the quality of essential oils you are purchasing. It truly makes a difference… especially if you’re using them for health purposes.
If the oil is really cheap, there’s a reason for that. Just do your research before buying. And don’t be afraid to ask them lots of questions.

Did you know 5% of all essential oils are made for the food and fragrance industry?

There are hundreds of compounds in just one essential oil, but not all oils are used for healing purposes.

The fragrance industry is only interested in pleasant aromas. In a lab they remove only those parts of the oil that give the arona profile and they throw the rest out.

The food industry only want the elements that lend good flavor. So lab technicians remove only selections that taste like mint, peppermint, cinnamon, etc., and use small amounts to flavor the things they make. Most of the total healing natural elements are completely removed.

In pure, high quality essential oils, all of the compounds are left in tact so that you can experience the fully health benefits that Mother Nature intended.

Aromatherapy can be a very helpful companion when embarking upon a long journey, or even just a short trip, and may even effectively replace some other traditional medicines for those that are looking for a natural alternative. While traveling may be a part of our work and our play, for those that suffer from travel-troubles it can be a nightmare. If you suffer from travel sickness, headaches or migraines, queasiness, fear of flying, jet lag, insect bites and sun burns, here you will find essential oil remedies to help with those maladies. I’ve also included a recipe for a massage blend to keep deep vein thrombosis at bay, as well.

Important Notes for Using Essential Oils; Dilutions and Usage of Essential Oils:

Always dilute essential oils, as they are very potent and too concentrated to use undiluted on the skin. To use essential oils in a massage, use the following dilutions:

For most people ages 12-65 add no more than 20 drops of your chosen essential oil(s) per ounce of carrier oils.

For those aged 4-6 or those over age 65, do not use more than 10 drops per ounce of carrier, and those aged 1-4, no more than 5 drops per ounce of carrier of safe essential oils.

For pregnant women or babies, only minute quantities of safe essential oils should be used. For instance, only 1-4 drops of essential oils should be used per ounce of carrier.

NOTE: Only Tea Tree, Lavender, Roman Chamomile 3%, Dill, and Mandarin (be careful of phototoxicity with citrus oils), as well as Eucalyptus Smithii (the mildest of all the Eucalyptus’) are safe for children and the elderly, and are the only essential oils that should be used on pregnant women, or children under 4 years old.

Here’s how to make your own natural travel kit with essential oils:

First, gather ingredients. Here’s a list of essential oils and items you’ll need;

  • Peppermint essential oil (peppermint supreme is best)
  • Lavender (French Lavender is best),
  • Ginger Root essential oil,
  • Eucalyptus Globulus (or Eucalyptus Smithii if using on children) essential oil,
  • Geranium essential oil,
  • Cypress essential oil (French Cypress is best),
  • Chamomile (Roman Chamomile 3% is best as it is less expensive than pure and is already diluted),
  • Grapeseed oil (or other carrier oil such as sweet almond, fractionated coconut, olive, sunflower, or mixture of carrier oils),
  • Aloe Vera liquid or gel (for insect bite relief roll-on)
  • Aromatherapy Inhalers (empty inhalers you can fill yourself),
  • 3.4 oz. (100ml) spray bottle (for sunburn relief spray), and
  • 3.4 oz. (100ml) plastic disc top bottle (for massage blend).
  • Small roll-on bottle for insect bite relief blend. I found a package of 12 roll-on bottles in 5ml size on amazon here.

Both types of empty bottles (spray bottles and massage blend bottles) can be purchased at Walmart or Dollar Tree, and Mountain Rose Herbs is a great place for essential oils and carriers . An easy way to label the aromatherapy inhalers is to write the title on a small piece of paper (about 1/2 in. by 1.5 in. will fit most inhalers), and cover the label with clear tape to prevent water ruining the label. Then attach the label to the inhaler with more clear tape. I use clear shipping tape, as it is wide enough to cover the label and reach over the edges, so it sticks to the label and the inhaler. Same goes for the massage bottle label, except for the size of the paper.

Recipes for Natural Travel Kit:

Sunburn relief spray – For the 3.4 oz (100ml) bottle

  • 1 oz Aloe Vera Gel
  • 2 oz purified water
  • 20 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops Vitamin E Oil (or 2-3 Vit. E oil caplets)
  • 10 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 15 drops Roman Chamomile 3% essential oil

Mix, and shake well before each use. Spray over affected area whenever needed.

Here are a few extra tips to help heal sunburn quickly: Drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun until the sunburn completely heals, and avoid drinking any alcohol–because alcohol dehydrates you and your body needs water to repair the damaged skin. Also, wear loose natural clothing like light cottons, or silks.

Insect bite relief– For the 5ml roll-on bottle

  • 25 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 20 drops of Tea Tree essential oil
  • 50 drops of Aloe Vera liquid (or thinned-out aloe gel)

Add ingredients to roll-on bottle, shake well. Replace roller ball and cap. Roll directly on the bite to relieve itching as well as promote healing.

Jet lag aromatherapy inhaler

  • 2 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 2 drops Geranium or Rose Geranium essential oil

Open the inhaler; add the drops of essential oils on the cotton filter. Place the cotton filter in the inhaler tube and close the bottom. Be sure to mark the inhaler so you know what’s inside. Inhale gently whenever needed. Here are a few extra tips for naturally preventing jet lag: Make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, no alcoholic or caffeinated drinks. Try ordering a ginger ale or a water when you are flying. Also, for some, taking two capsules of ginger before flying really helps. Also make sure to keep moving, it isn’t helpful to stay stagnant the whole trip. If you can’t walk around, just do some simple exercises while sitting. Try some leg raises, palm contractions, or roll your ankles and feet in circles with your legs stretched out as far as they can. Also be sure to eat healthy meals on time, don’t skip any meals.

Aromatherapy inhaler and massage oil recipe for migraines, stress headache, nausea and depression

  • 2 drops Roman Chamomile
  • 4 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Peppermint

Make an aromatherapy inhaler by opening the empty inhaler, adding the drops to the filter, replacing filter, and closing the inhaler tube. You can take this with you on any trip because of its small size. Be sure to mark the inhaler so you know what’s inside. You can also make a massage oil by adding these oils to a carrier. To make this into a massage oil in the 3.4 oz (100ml) bottle, use 30 drops Lavender, 15 drops R.Chamomile, and 15 drops Peppermint essential oils to 3 oz. of carrier like Grapeseed oil. Shake well, and be sure to add a label to the bottle or inhaler, so you always know what’s inside. To use the massage oil, shake well, and massage about 1 tsp. of the blend into the mastoids behind the ear, as well as the temples (being careful not to get any in the eyes). You may also massage over the abdominal/naval area if you wish. Do this hourly. You can also place a warm compress over the stomach after the oils are applied. Use the inhaler 4-6 times per hour, or as needed.

Travel sickness aromatherapy inhaler

If you get travel sickness when you fly, or when on a cruise ship, make an aromatherapy inhaler and gently inhale before and during your trip. This will help to calm and relax you, inside and out, whenever you feel ill from traveling. This blend is also good for stress when dealing with flight turbulence.

  • 4 drops of Peppermint
  • 4 drops of Lavender

To make the aromatherapy travel sickness inhaler open the inhaler; add the drops of essential oils on the cotton filter, then put the cotton filter back in the inhaler tube and close the bottom. Be sure to mark the inhaler so you know what’s inside. Inhale gently whenever needed.

Travel queasiness aromatherapy inhaler

If you are prone to your stomach leaping, turning and churning during a flight, make this blend for your inhaler as it really helps with queasiness. This blend is also good for stress when dealing with flight turbulence.

  • 6 drops of Ginger
  • 2 drops of Peppermint

To make the aromatherapy queasiness inhaler open the inhaler; add the drops of essential oils on the cotton filter, then put the cotton filter back in the inhaler tube and close the bottom. Be sure to mark the inhaler so you know what’s inside. Inhale gently to help settle your stomach.

Fear of flying aromatherapy inhaler

This blend is perfect for those who suffer from fear of flying. Inhale for a few minutes before takeoff, and again during the flight.

  • 4 drops of Chamomile Roman 3%
  • 2 drops of Lavender

To make the aromatherapy fear of flying inhaler open the inhaler; add the drops of essential oils on the cotton filter, then put the cotton filter back in the inhaler tube and close the bottom. Be sure to mark the inhaler so you know what’s inside. Inhale gently whenever needed. The calming properties of these oils will help you relax the entire flight.

Travel massage oil

  • 3 oz. or 90 ml of grape seed oil
  • 15 drops Eucalyptus globulus (or Eucalyptus Smitii)
  • 5 drops of Cypress French
  • 5 drops Ginger essential oil

Combine all ingredients in the disc-top bottle and shake well before use. Apply to the skin by pouring out about 1 tabelspoon in your palm, rubbing palms together to warm oil, and gently massaging your legs. Here are a few other tips for preventing deep vein thrombosis:

Try to move as often as possible during long trips to prevent deep vein thrombosis from occurring, (which is caused by blood clots forming in the legs due to the lack of movement). Exercise your lower calf muscles if you’ll be sitting a long time. Whenever possible, get up and walk around. If you can’t get up to walk around, try raising and lowering your heels while keeping your toes on the floor, then raising your toes while your heels are on the floor.

Extra Notes on Essential Oils for Travel:

Peppermint, Ginger, and Lavender essential oils are the best for relieving nausea, motion sickness, or just feeling queasy. Keep these close at hand for trips.

Lavender is one of those essential oils that you should always have for a multitude of purposes, as it can be used for almost anything because of it being a natural balancer,

Also, Rosemary, Peppermint, and Grapefruit are great for an invigorating blend that stimulates physical and mental energy.

Cypress essential oil is also great for cellulite, varicose veins, water retention, stress, nervous tension, menstrual problems, as well as a good anti-inflammatory.

Ginger essential oil is also useful for treating rheumatism, arthritis, nausea, hangovers, colds and flu, congestion, coughs, sinusitis, cramps, chills, fever, bruising, sore throat and diarrhea.
