Beautiful words to live by, “Anyway” poem

1482953403219

Happy day to you!!

Though it is sometimes cold and lonely walking the path of our life,

let these words become a part of you inside and out,

and that once disheartening pilgrimage

becomes a joyous journey and

a voluminous voyage full of warmth, community and love.

Anyway

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true friends; succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world your best anyway.
You see, in the end, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

These words to live by/ poem/ life advice was thought to be written by Mother Teresa, but in fact was from a book called,
The Paradoxical Commandments written by Kent M. Keith when he was 19, a sophomore at Harvard College.
He wrote them as part of a book for student leaders entitled The Silent Revolution: Dynamic Leadership in the Student Council, published by Harvard Student Agencies in 1968. The Paradoxical Commandments subsequently spread all over the world, and have been used by millions of people.

According to Lucinda Vardey, in Mother Teresa: A Simple Path (New York: Ballantine Books, 1995), page 185, there was “a sign on the wall of Shishu Bhavan, the children’s home in Calcutta.” This is what the sign said:

ANYWAY
People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered,
LOVE THEM ANYWAY
If you do good, people will accuse you of
selfish, ulterior motives,
DO GOOD ANYWAY
If you are successful,
you win false friends and true enemies,
SUCCEED ANYWAY
The good you do will be forgotten tomorrow,
DO GOOD ANYWAY
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable,
BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY
What you spent years building may be
destroyed overnight,
BUILD ANYWAY
People really need help
but may attack you if you help them,
HELP PEOPLE ANYWAY
Give the world the best you have
And you’ll get kicked in the teeth,
GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU’VE GOT ANYWAY.

This version includes eight of the original ten Paradoxical Commandments. The two that are missing are the sixth (Think big anyway) and the seventh (Fight for a few underdogs anyway). The wording of the other eight commandments is very close to Kent Keith’s original, written in 1968.

No matter where it originated, and in any case, these words are a marvelous way to give our lives meaning, and by giving, doing, and living for others, we indeed make our own lives worth living at all.

Essential oils for life and health

Essential oils are becoming more popular every day, isn’t it time you tried them?

For those who like the survivalist train of thought…it is ESSENTIAL to have essential oils in your first aid kit 🙂 lol.

To find out what I mean by that read this post I found from; natural cures notmedicine.com /huge-list-of-essential-oils-for-health-and-survival.

Think about your family’s health needs, and ask yourself these questions…

1. What would you do if your one of your children had an asthma attack and you couldn’t find the inhaler?

2. What would you do if someone in your family developed a bacterial infection and no medical help was available?

3. What would you do in the case of a bad toothache and you had no access to a dentist?

4. How would you handle the stress and anxiety associated with a natural disaster, man-made disaster or economic crisis?

This all brings us to today’s topic, a big fat list of essential oils for survival situations, along with suggested uses.

February love and all about Aromatherapy as an Aphrodisiac ; Essential Oil Recipes for Love

Happy February!

My favorite month, and not just because it’s my birthday month, or because of Valentine’s Day, but because it’s all about my favorite subject….LOVE!!

I thought I’d share with you another one of my orphaned articles from Yahoo. This one’s all about aromatherapy and it’s effects and uses for aphrodisiacs and special libido recipes for you and your favorite person.

About aromatherapy and the libido

Aromatherapy has, over the centuries, been used for countless purposes, including aiding the mind, body and spirit to heal, as well as having calming effects, and even help with beauty, and even love. But for many ancient cultures almost every one has well documented effects of flowers and their distilled oils on the human libido, and aphrodisiac aromatherapy is part of their makeup. From the ancient Egyptians, Romans, Aztecs and Sumerians come the passed down romantic helpers of jasmine, peppermint, lilies, neroli, sunflowers, and of course, roses. ginger plantLogan Pearsall Smith pointed out in the late 1800s that flowers are the sex organ of the plant and flowers are actually the sexual representation of the plant. Hmmmm, no sexual innuendos there.

Most aphrodisiac oils send messages to relax peripheral nervous energy and instead concentrate that energy for stimulation of the sexual centers. Certain odors provoke strong desires by increasing sex hormones within us. Aromas can also calm the nervous system, thus reducing stress and tension and releasing more energy for enjoyable pursuits such as sex. Below are listed of some of the better known aphrodisiac essential oils that can be diffused for a sexy atmosphere, or added to a bath for the ultimate luxury spa experience.  Also, a perfect way to get things going in the bedroom is by Massaging your partner with these oils (in a carrier oil) is also an incredibly sensual way of creating a loving space with guaranteed results, always!

I agree with this aromatherapy as aphrodisiac blog— it says,

“In order to raise our libido, we have to first raise our body temperature. The aphrodisiac essential oils are mostly warm, rich aromas, such as those that come from spices and certain flowers. Aphrodisiac aromatherapy can be tricky. It may take calculation. What one person loves, another might find ghastly, but on a very basic level aromatherapy is a natural aphrodisiac that works to calm, soothe, stimulate and reduce stress, or negative energy. Because impotence and frigidity is most often associated with stress, emotion and psychology, plants that work to calm and soothe while actively stimulating hormonal production and reducing stress and anxiety are key elements in an active and healthy sex life. Flower aromas can have strong psychedelic effect if not used appropriately but in moderation it is mild and aids in sexual health by improving the mental and physical aspect of the one smelling it. Some flowers though can have both an aphrodisiac effect through its aroma and/or via its connotation with lust, beauty, and pleasure.”

Sexy For Him;

  • 7 drops of Atlas Cedarwood essential oil
  • 6 drops of Sandalwood essential oil
  • 2 drops of Patchouli essential oil
  • 3 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops ginger essential oil

Hot & Sexy Rub

  • 1 drop ginger
  • 1-2 drops jasmine or rose essential oil
  • 3-4 drops vanilla absolute

This blend is absolutely lick-able! Add this to 2-4 ounces of organic coconut oil and massage the body. Be very careful as cinnamon essential oil is VERY hot, so you may want to try adding more carrier ( coconut oil ) to the blend to tone it down if it’s too hot for you. Also, please note that if you are going to ingest any of these oils make sure to use only pure, high grade essential oils as others may be harmful and very dangerous! And if this blend doesn’t work to spice things up in the bedroom, then I’m sorry to say your lover must be dead. Maybe invest in some electro-shock therapy, or if all else fails try Viagra! 😛

Warming Bath

  • 2 drops Vanilla, Benzoin or Sandalwood essential oil
  • 2 drops Ginger essential oil
  • 4 drops Sweet Orange essential oil

Add these 8 drops of essential oils directly to a warm (or hot if you prefer) bath and disperse well – or blend with 1 TBLS sunflower, jojoba, grapeseed oil and/or 1-2 TBLS unscented bubble bath and add to a warm bath. Soak in the bath for 15-20 minutes inhaling the vapors. Do not get bath water in your eyes as it will sting. This spa treatment is especially excellent for winter time or when you have been suffering from a sickness, cold or chills.

Or start out with a Valentine’s cocktail: I found this one at 365 cocktails

Here is the recipe for a Chocolate Whipped Cherry:

1 ounce chocolate whipped vodka1 ounce cherry vodka1 1/2 ounces Godiva Chocolate Liqueur1/2 ounce cherry juice (from the jar of maraschino cherries)

If you wanted to get a little creative, take chocolate syrup and create a design in a martini glass (mine was a heart and you can see the longer it took me to take the photos, the more it started to drip to the bottom, lol).  Stick your glass in the freezer to allow the chocolate to harden enough so that it won’t run as soon as you pour the cocktail in (10ish minutes).

In a shaker, add ice and all of the ingredients above.  Shake and strain into your chilled martini glass.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Places to buy essential oils:

I’m sure you’ve heard that there is a difference in essential oils, and yes there is. Usually the higher price, the better the oil, but that’s not always the case. Do your own research about the company you want to purchase from and make sure they offer some kind of data sheet on each individual oil they sell. Many will try to fool you by diluting them and calling them ‘pure’, but as I mentioned, please do your own detective work, and you’ll be happier with your purchases.  Here are a few I trust:

Mountain Rose Herbs : Mountain Rose has tons of great organic ingredients, and are a well respected company in the organic and natural products arena.

Bella Mira ; If you love Young Living Oils or are a Young Living Distributor try Bella Mira therapeutic grade essential oils .. test for yourself the difference…you will receive a discounted price if you are already a distributor w/YL.

Young Living Oils – Young Living is a world renown company that sells very high quality therapeutic grade essential oils and supplements. Tho’ they are expensive, they are worth it. If you would like to receive a discount on therapeutic grade essential oils try checking out my friends’ Young Living oils page.
I hope you find many uses for these aromatherapy aphrodisiac blends, and I hope you love with all your heart, and in return have someone to share all your heart with.

And be sure to try these luscious Valentines’ Day Dinner for Two recipes, along with this and you’ll most definitely have some super sexy results guaranteed!!! 😛

citrus oils may help with liver cancer

How wonderful and exciting!

I love finding science about the wonders of essential oils. Many scientists are studying essential oils  and how they effect our bodies.

Check this out!…..

(lemonyellowcitrusNaturalNews) A new study published in the journal Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics suggests that the scent of citronella can inhibit the growth of cancer cells, including cancer of the liver. Researchers from the Ruhr University Bochum, say terpenes, a main component of essential oils, can prevent or slow cancer cell growth.

Headed by Professor Dr. Hanns Hatt, a team of scientists analyzed the molecular mechanisms by which cancer cell growth is slowed, using citronellal, the primary chemical compound responsible for giving citrus its distinctive lemon scent. Their experiment identified the olfactory receptor OR1A2 as being crucial for stopping cancer cell replication.

Large amounts of plant matter are needed to extract just a tiny bit of essential oil, explaining the product’s markup on store shelves.

Used for centuries by many cultures around the world, essential oils offer many health benefits and have been used to treat a variety of ailments including asthma, bronchitis, HIV, heart strokes and many others.

Essential oils help protect you from bacteria, viruses and fungi

Aside from improving your health, essential oils can help make your skin more beautiful, as well as assist with relaxation and sleep. There are more than 90 essential oils, all of them having their own unique benefits. You can reap the benefits of essential oils by applying them directly to your skin, through inhalation or by using a diffuser.

This latest experiment involving essential oils zeros in on the power of scent, unlocking the key to our bodies’ sense of smell and how that relates to fighting disease.

Due to their many benefits, essential oils are being widely researched for their antiviral, antibacterial and fungicidal properties. Terpenes, which are produced by a variety of plants, were thought to influence cancer cell growth; however, how that actually worked was not well understood until recently.

The following is a comment from a trusted professional Robert Tisserand about cancer and essential oils:

There’s no evidence at all that frankincense oil would be helpful in colon cancer. There is evidence from in vitro testing that the following oils might be helpful: cinnamon bark, lime, rose, turmeric and caraway. However, there is virtually nothing known about appropriate dosing. A clinical aromatherapist might be able to help you. A very promising treatment is turmeric extract high in curcumin, usually available in capsule form. There is a lot of information online about curcumin, turmeric and cancer.
