The Fifth Chakra (Vishudha) or Throat Chakra;
The fifth chakra is also known as the throat chakra or in Sanskrit- Vishudha (which means ‘pure’) and relates to communication and divine will, creativity, self-expression and the search for truth. It is where we speak our truths and take responsibility for our words.
The corresponding body parts associated with the throat chakra are the throat and neck, esophagus, mouth, teeth, upper lungs and respiratory system, ears, thyroid and parathyroid glands. The throat chakra also corresponds with the element of ether.
The corresponding colors associated with the throat chakra are blue, and sky blue. Blue symbolizes inspiration, devotion, infinity and religious goals, and the color blue also produces a calm and peaceful feeling.
The throat chakra enables us to communicate our thoughts and feelings, and is directly connected to the ability to express inner creativity. essential oil recipes for new beginnings

Here we are at the beginning of a new year. I love new beginnings. It’s like a fresh start; a way to press the re-start button on a whole new life. We have the chance to put those things behind us that no longer work for us, or are unhealthy, or cause us negativity in our lives. Whoo hoo!

Out with the old, in with the new. I am ready.

So, with that in mind, I’ve put together a few essential oil recipes for new beginnings in our lives. A fresh start if you will.

Essential oil recipe for new beginnings:

The first essential oil recipe for new beginnings has to do with an over-all fresh blend to give us that ‘breath of fresh air’ so to speak, clearing out the old negative stuff and inhaling a clean, new start. I started with citrus oils of course, as they are so great for an uplifting, and happy feeling. Then added a bit of lavender for a super clean and lovely balance. Next  is spearmint for a minty freshness and followed up with juniper, Atlas cedarwood and cypress.

Try this blend for your new year-

  • 7 drops grapefruit
  • 4 drops lemon
  • 4 drops tangerine
  • 4 drops lavender
  • 2 drops spearmint or peppermint
  • 3 drops juniper
  • 4 drops Atlas cedarwood
  • 3 drops cypress

This blend can be added to many different things depending on how you want to use it.

For a body re-fresher or spritzer add 20 drops of this blend to 4 ounces of water with a splash of vodka, shake and use anytime.

For a anointing oil or perfume type, use 12 drops of this blend mixed with 1 ounce of sweet almond oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil or similar.

For a bath salt or body salt scrub, add 20 drops of the blend to 4 ounces of dead sea salts and 1-2 oz. of jojoba, sweet almond, olive, grapeseed or similar oil, mix and use as an exfoliating body scrub or soaking bath salts.

For a take-with-you-to-go style inhaler for freshness on the go, put about 25 drops or so of this blend in a small dark glass bottle, or you can make your own aromatherapy inhaler. You can find inhalers for pretty inexpensive all over the internet. Here’s a few places:

Aromatherapy Inhaler – Plastic, Pack of 4 (w/caps & wicks)-These plastic inhalers are convenient and portable. Place a few drops of your favorite Essential Oil or Aromatherapy Blend on the wick, slip it into the base and cover. To use, simply remove the top and inhale.

List of Essential Oils for Specific Emotions

List of Emotions and What Kind of Essential Oils to Use to Either Enhance or Subdue Them

Emotions are part of who we are as humans. We are emotional beings. And many of our imbalances and things that make us sick are caused from emotional imbalances. In other words, our emotions can make us sick.

First things first, if you’ve never used essential oils before, read a primer I wrote on essential oils, what they are and the difference between therapeutic grade and most “on the market” essential oils called “Many Helpful Suggestions on Uses of Essential Oils” before delving into this article, it will save you lots of questions.

More and more these days, plants are finding a medicinal purpose in our lives, people like natural cures rather than subjecting themselves to harsh man-made chemicals and pills. Essential oils are natural gifts we have access to that can aid our recoveries and help to bring holistic balance and well-being into our lives. Use this list wisely, and note whenever you are feeling these emotions to add some of the corresponding essential oils into your day, you will definitely feel better!

Anger

Everyone feels anger at times in their lives, sometimes it helps to count to ten, but if you are feeling angry for an extended period of time, this can be very detrimental to your health. If you can’t get professional help, try using the following essential oils either in a diffuser in your home, work space, or carry a hankie with a few drops of one or more of the following essential oils on it: Bergamot, Jasmine, Lemon, Neroli, Orange, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Roman Chamomile, Rose, Vetiver, and Ylang Ylang.

More and more these days, plants are finding a medicinal purpose in our lives, people like natural cures rather than subjecting themselves to harsh man-made chemicals and pills, also keep in mind that around 30% of the ingredients that are added in conventional medicine are extracted from natural resources like plants and herbs. Holistic remedies are becoming more commonplace in the medical field and even many scientists after years of testing are concluding that alternative medicine is making headway as a tool in the “every-man’s preventative medicine chest”.

Anxiety, stress and depression are almost at record levels in our country, who knows if it’s because of the economy, the stressful atmospheres and workplaces we subject ourselves to, or even home-life? Most people don’t think about it, but our diets, especially an excess of sugar, sugar substitutes, coffee, alcohol and/or junk foods can add to imbalances in our mental and physical states of being. No matter the cause, there is hope…and without resorting to dangerous synthetic drugs. Anxiety, stress and depression can have real life consequences and devastating effects on our spirits, minds and bodies that affect not only the entire scope of our lives, but those around us as well.

Many Helpful Suggestions on Uses of Essential Oils

Many Helpful Suggestions on Uses of Essential Oils

For all of those who love the idea of using nature’s gifts, essential oils are the ticket. Not only are they little miracles, but they come in handy so often, I couldn’t imagine life without them.

Here is a little primer first, for those who want to know more about them; essential oils come from the various elements of plants – the seeds, bark, leaves, stems, roots, flowers, and fruit. These oils can be distilled from the plant material or extracted. The majority are distilled. It takes tons of plant material to create tiny amounts of essential oils. (And you wondered why they were so expensive!)

It’s very important to use therapeutic grade essential oils for most of the suggestions for each ailment or common use. Especially if you’re using it internally (which should only be used under supervision of an Aromatherapist). But for external uses such as diffusing or for room fragrancing, etc…it’s not imperative to use the therapeutic type.

What’s the difference you ask?
